The pride of an address

Palm Hills Developments is one of Egypt’s largest real estate developers.

Following a vision to create self-sufficient and well-integrated communities in Egypt, Palm Hills Developments was founded in 1997 and is regarded as a leader in integrated residential, commercial and resorts projects. Today, the company possesses one of the largest and most diversified land banks spanning over 29 million sqm, and an impressive roster of 34 projects in West Cairo, East Cairo, Alexandria and North Coast. Tens of thousands of people reside in Palm Hills projects today.

In 2008, Palm Hills became the first and still only company within the Mansour Group to be publicly listed, floating on the Egyptian Stock Exchange in Cairo.

A flagship project is the sustainable city of Badya that is being constructed on 3,000 acres of land to the west of Cairo. When completed, it will be Egypt’s first sustainable and smart city and eventually will accommodate 250,000 people.

Mr Yasseen Mansour, Chairman of Palm Hills, discusses the importance of sustainable real estate development and cites Badya as a notable example at the United Nations’ World Urban Forum in Cairo in 2024.

In terms of scale, it will be one-third the size of Manhattan, while it will house more people than the British towns of Reading and Guildford.

Much of the country’s residential space traditionally has been squeezed into a narrow strip of fertile land that surrounds the Nile. However, new cities are being created amid a construction boom that the government hopes will eventually increase the proportion of the country’s land utilised for housing from 7% to 14%.

At Badya we are thinking far beyond just houses. We are building a new university within the city, which, we believe, will be the greenest academic university on the planet. There will be wind corridors and the latest in water technology for reusing and recycling this precious commodity. Most residents will be just a two-minute stroll away from green areas filled with botanical life and water elements.

Neighbourhoods will be interweaved with pathways to promote walking and cycling in safe, breathable atmospheres. Central plazas promoting less motorised transport will highlight the centre of each residential block and will be interlocked with scenic bike lanes and footpaths to the many others throughout the splendour of Badya. Every destination can be reached easily by public transport, car or bike. We believe it will be the first city in the Middle East and North Africa to be in full compliance with the UN’s sustainable development goals.

Our other developments are located in West Cairo, East Cairo and in several places along Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.
