The Mansour name has been associated with the car industry since the Mansour Automotive Company (MAC) was founded in 1975. MAC was the first national dealer for General Motors and helped prepare the way for General Motor’s entry into local manufacture in 1983. In 2001, MAC became the exclusive distributor for General Motors Egypt, via an established network of ten national branches, over 60 wholesale dealerships and 45 sub-dealerships.
 The company handles over 75 percent of Egypt’s commercial vehicle sales. In June of 2003 General Motors Corporation has acquired 10%of Mansour’s Automotive Company equity.
