Established in 2003, Lead is a non-profit NGO initiated by some of Egypt’s leading private sector businessmen. Headed by Mr. Mohamed Mansour, Lead surfaced to the world of philanthropy with an objective to play an active role in the economic and social development of Egypt.
Operating with a strong core of values and ethics, Lead adopts the Best Practice Microfinance in all aspects of its works, including financial transparency.
Lead believes that the best means of responding to the general social needs is through identifying the most effective interventions that would likely have positive impacts on social and economic sectors. The Foundation focuses on reaching out directly to two segments of the society most in need of empowerment: poor and low-income entrepreneurs, as well as women. Through the Microenterprise Individual Lending Program and the Blossoms of Goodwill Group Lending Program, Lead successfully reaches out and provides for its target groups.
