Overview
Mansour Chevrolet, now known as Mansour Automotive Company (MAC), was established by Loutfy Mansour in 1975 as one of six dealers of General Motors to import and sell GM vehicles (Chevrolet, Opel and Isuzu).

In 1998, GM changed its business model for imported (SUP) vehicles from a multi-dealer system to a single distributor and appointed Mansour Chevrolet as sole distributor.
With a strong management team driven by the philosophy of “Customers Come First”, MAC continued to be the market leader in vehicle sales, parts and service.

In 2003, GM and MAC furthered their strategic alliance to form a joint venture whereby GM Corporation owns 10% of MAC. This signaled the start of a new era of cooperation between both companies. Later in 2003, MAC was appointed exclusive GM distributor in Iraq and in 2005 MAC was appointed the exclusive distributor for Libya.

Since then MAC has grown the business to be the largest independent GM distributor in the world, with 2008 sales reaching an all time high of 82,244 units accounting for 23.1 % market share in Egypt, 40% in Libya and 26% in Iraq.
